Laser hair removal works by directing a concentrated beam of light into the hair follicle. The light is attracted to the melanin (the pigment in the hair), which absorbs the energy and converts it into heat.
This heat damages or destroys the follicle, disrupting its ability to grow future hair.
Over a series of sessions, this process leads to significantly reduced hair growth, finer regrowth, and smoother skin.
Because the laser targets pigment, it works best when there is contrast between the hair and skin — and with modern devices like Clarity II, treatments are effective and safe on all skin tones thanks to dual wavelengths and advanced cooling.
The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on factors like hair density, colour, growth cycles, and hormones. Most clients need 6–10 sessions to achieve about 90% permanent reduction in unwanted hair.
Laser hair removal works by targeting hairs in the active (anagen) growth phase, and not all hairs are in this phase at the same time. This is why a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is essential for the best results.
Clients with hormonal hair growth (such as chin, jawline, or bikini) may require a few maintenance sessions once or twice a year to stay smooth after completing there series of sessions.
Laser hair removal sessions are typically done every 4–6 weeks. This timing is crucial because it allows us to catch hairs as they cycle into the active growth phase, when laser is most effective.
Staying consistent with your schedule delivers the best results; pushing appointments too far apart can slow progress and may require additional sessions.
Most clients begin noticing changes 7–14 days after their first treatment. This is when you may see:
For some people, visible reduction may start after the second session, especially in hormonally influenced areas. Progress continues to improve with each treatment.
Skin Types:
Yes — we can safely and effectively treat all skin types (Fitzpatrick I–VI). Our dual-wavelength laser allows us to customize settings for lighter and darker skin tones while maintaining comfort and safety. If you are recently tanned (sun or fake tan) please wait 2 weeks before booking laser for safety measures.
Hair Colours:
Laser hair removal works by targeting melanin (pigment) in the hair, so it is only effective on hairs that contain pigment.
Peach fuzz (vellus hair) is very fine, light, and low in pigment, which makes it difficult for the laser to “see.” Because laser energy targets melanin, vellus hair doesn’t absorb enough heat to be treated effectively.
Attempting to laser peach fuzz can also lead to an unwanted reaction called paradoxical stimulation, where the very fine hairs can grow back thicker, darker, and more noticeable. For this reason, only terminal hairs—hairs with pigment, thickness, and depth—are recommended for laser hair removal.
Please consult the studio so that we can determine the type of hair if you are not sure, free consultation is a great way to start.
Laser hair removal is very tolerable, especially with our advanced cryogen cooling system. The laser releases a quick burst of cold air before and after each pulse, which helps numb the skin and significantly reduces discomfort.
Most clients describe the sensation as a light snap or warmth. Many have mentioned that treatments with cryogen cooling feel about 30% less painful compared to traditional gel-based laser systems.
Overall, the combination of cooling, fast pulse delivery, and modern technology makes treatments comfortable, quick, and easy to tolerate.
Yes we do, buy 5 sessions and get your 6th session free (pay for 5 and get 6) for all areas and including full body.
Laser hair removal is safe for most clients, but certain precautions are important:
Laser targets the melanin (pigment) in hair follicles, so it works best on terminal hairs: thick, dark hairs with pigment. Vellus hairs (peach fuzz) are very fine, low in pigment, and generally cannot be treated because the laser cannot target them effectively.
Facial Hair Tip: For added comfort on facial areas, a cooling sheet mask can be applied immediately after treatment to draw heat out, reduce redness, and soothe skin.
To ensure a safe and effective treatment, please follow these guidelines:
✔ Shave the day of or night before your appointment
Hair should be as short as possible so the laser can target the root beneath the skin, not the hair above it.
✔ Arrive with clean skin
Do not apply heavy lotions, oils, deodorant, or creams on the treatment area before your appointment.
✔ Avoid sun exposure for 10–14 days prior
Freshly tanned skin is not safe for treatment. This includes natural sun, tanning beds, and self-tanner.
✔ Do not pluck, wax, or thread for 2+ weeks before starting laser
These methods remove the root, which is what the laser must target.
(Once you begin laser, do not use these methods at all.)
✔ Pause retinols, exfoliants, and active ingredients 3–5 days before treatment
This includes AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and scrubs.
✔ Avoid antibiotics or photosensitizing medications
If you are on antibiotics or any medication that increases light sensitivity, please wait 2 weeks after completion before getting lasered.
✔ No makeup in the treatment area
For face or neck treatments, arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
✔ Avoid heat and sweat for 24–72 hours
This includes:
Heat can irritate the skin and increase the risk of reactions.
✔ Avoid deodorant and creams for 24 hours
These can clog or irritate the freshly treated follicles.
✔ Keep the area cool
If you feel warm or sensitive, apply cool compresses or aloe vera.
✔ No chlorine for 48–72 hours
Swimming pools can cause stinging and irritation to treated skin.
✔ Avoid exfoliating the area for 3–5 days
Let the skin settle before using scrubs, retinols, or acids again.
✔ Expect shedding within 7–14 days
This is normal and a sign the treatment worked.
Hairs will appear to “fall out” or slide from the follicle.
